Wildly overvalue prospects and refuse to trade them until they fail in the majors and lose all value
Make sure top prospects all have large logjams at their position on the big league roster so that they have to fight tooth and nail just to get a little bit of playing time
Either jump them straight from Double-A to the majors or force them to repeat Triple-A too many times
Create clear succession paths for top prospects and trade prospects that aren't in the team's plans once their value peaks
